Fresh from Miami Swim Week, we’re buzzing with inspiration & excitement – the style, the heat, the energy, & the chance to catch up with some of our favorite designers, creators & influencers.
We kicked off the weekend at the opening party for Nu Wave Swim – a new swim week experience and platform for designers and creators – at the Miami Beach Botanical Gardens. It’s such a beautiful and magical space tucked away on the beach. The next night it was time for the Monday Swimwear show – a brand co-founded and designed by our friends Tash Oakley and Devin Brugman.
The show was incredible – the swim pieces were modern, super chic and easy to mix and match. The designers styled and paired the swim looks with gorgeous linen blouses, wraps and sheer dresses – mixed with gold chain belts, oversized straw hats and bags, and Grecian leather sandals. The show featured models of every body shape and skin tone which was so incredible to see. The pair really design their collection to be inclusive of everyone, with various styles of coverage and support. We love this! We popped backstage after the show to congratulate the pair.
When we complimented Tash on her look, she replied by saying “I’m wearing you guys!”
Both the designers swear by our Mineral Sheer Tint tinted moisturizer, and have been wearing the formula for over 5 years. Tash wears shade Natural Glow, and Devin wears Medium.
After the show we attended a beautiful dinner hosted by Cultured magazine (our go-to read for everything art and design related) at the new Lennox hotel in South Beach. The dinner was so special and intimate – honoring the swimwear designer Sinesia Karol.
After dinner, we jetted to the Style Saves fashion show at the Setai Hotel. Style Saves is an incredible non-profit that provides students with clothing, school supplies, and special experiences for special milestones in students lives. Headed by our friends Rachael Russell and Isabela Grutman, we’ve been proud supporters of their charity for many years. Style Saves’ work directly and immediate affects the lives of so many Miami students who have limited access to basic necessities needed for school. They host a fashion show every year and its always a huge success and special moment for everyone.
The next day it was all about the shows! Visiting the brands we represent and retail at both Gee Beauty and 6 By Gee Beauty. We started at the gorgeous Faena Bazaar space that houses some very special designers and curators. Beyond the fashion are the interiors of the space – the fabrics, the wallpaper, the architecture – its so visually stimulating and inspiring. We saw some of the brands we love including Mes Demoiselle from Paris. Stay tuned for some incredible pieces making their way to 6 By Gee Beauty in the Fall.
The day ended with a summer sunset cocktail at Soho Beach House – one of our favorite and most special places in Miami.
Until next year xx
